The 242 Hearing Impaired Kit features a 41216 120V AC Smoke Alarm 499 Firex Relay Module GXS-120-177 strobe light (177 candela) and a wiring instruction sheet. The 41216 Smoke Alarm has an 85 decibel horn test switch and a lighted power-alarm LED indicator- the LED flashes once per minute to confirm AC power. When in alarm the LED (41216 Smoke Alarm) flashes rapidly once per second. The GXS strobe light utilizes a Xenon flash tube which generates a high-intensity light visible from all sides of the lens. The GXS Remote Strobe is intended to provide a visible notification signal for the purpose of life safety and property protection. The Firex 4618 Smoke Alarm is an ionization 120V AC smoke alarm with battery back-up for single or multiple station use. It includes a False Alarm Control feature which allows the user to quiet an unwanted alarm for up to 15 minutes. The 4618 has a front loading battery door 85 decibel horn test switch and dual purpose LED indicator- constant green power on LED confirms AC power is present and the flashing red displays alarm-battery status. Our unique PowerLink Tab is designed to allow the smoke alarm to be shipped with the battery already installed. It keeps the door from closing until installation which prevents the battery from draining prematurely. The installer simply removes the PowerLink Tab closes the door and tests the unit. This results in a faster installation time.
The latching LED feature clearly identifies the smoke alarm that initiated an alarm in an interconnected system with a constantly illuminated red LED. The LED will remain lit until the test button is depressed on that unit.
This smoke alarm mounts to any single or 4 octagon junction box or square-to-round drywall ring and has 8 long pigtails with a Quick Connect harness for permanent connection. The 4618 is interconnectable with up to 11 other compatible Firex smoke alarms and as many as 6 Firex heat alarms for a total of not more than 18 interconnected devices. Alarm Warnings
Fire: The red LED will flash and be accompanied by three long alarm beeps followed by a verbal warning message FIRE! FIRE!". The alarm will repeat pattern until smoke is eliminated. Carbon Monoxide: Four short alarm beeps followed by a verbal warning WARNING! CARBON MONOXIDE!" This continues until the unit is reset or the CO is eliminated.
Low Battery: One chirp followed by warning LOW BATTERY". The red LED light will flash. This pattern will continue every minute for the first hour. After the first hour the red LED light will flash once every minute accompanied by the chirp sound. The LOW BATTERY" warning will only sound once every fifteen minutes.
Voice Hush Indication: HUSH ACTIVATED" and HUSH CANCELLED" voice announcement.
Peak Level Memory: If the alarm had detected a CO level of 100ppm or higher the unit will announce CO PREVIOUSLY DETECTED" to warn of the CO incident when the Test-Reset button is pressed.
