The Firex 461 smoke alarm is an ionization 9V battery powered smoke alarms. This unit has an 85 decibel horn test switch low battery signal and a lighted power-alarm LED indicator (except 461)- the LED flashes once per minute indicating it is receiving power. When in alarm the LED flashes rapidly once per second.hese Firex smoke alarms should be placed in single-family households or in each individual living unit of multiple-family buildings.
